Marty...Cool stiry! Wow!!! "The Man Who Fell to Earth" Was a bit odd, for even me! But Bowie was a wild child, so I saw it 5 or 6 times!

Well, my eldest daughter who just came back from her freshman year has those stars on the ceiling of her bedroom. But unlike Dave, I didn't have to install them. But this thread reminds me of another set of those stars.

Back during my freshman year, one of my buddies across the hall put a set of those stars up on his ceiling. 20 years later, we were having a self organized reunion for our group of friends. As we were walking around campus and reminiscing, we got over to the old dorm. Somebody followed a student up to one of the entrances, and grabbed the door before it could swing shut and lock us out. Up we go to the old floor, laughing and joking with the current residents. One was truly amazed that the building had even been built 20 years prior. Anyway, my buddy asked if he could go into his old room. There on the ceiling, under a few coats of paint, were the stars he had put up all those years prior.

How about "The Man Who Fell to Earth"??? Ziggy personafied.

Cat...kinda spooky huh?
Well, I remember The age of Aquarious being banned by my 4th grade teacher, because it dealt with "witchery" and the "O'cult" ...Made me play it more often during music class!! heheheheheee ....
And I've got 3 daughters who all have used that fabric, and the ceilings were plastered with astronomical glow in the dark features(my neck still hurts from working overhead..)
And yes Eric...Ziggy ROCKS!!!!!
And no, I can't wait to try the G.O.G. rears!

I know you were just joking, but...... "The Age of Aquarius" WAS my favorite song in 1969.

I can remember that song coming on the radio in my mom's new Corvaire convertable & I made her drive around the neighborhood until it was over.

And.......... I honestly have glow-in-the-dark stars on my ceiling! Cross my heart & hope to die!

They are having trouble with fronts. Promissed deliveries are overdue not of any of Donald or Franks fault.

They have some rears and I will be getting some of the 1st.s ones that become available. My order has been in for a while and I am the canadian dealer. I will get them to the US until someone is set-up to replace sk8kings.

Another constant slam on the PVD's has always been that they're too complex.....
They're actually the opposite. They're easy to disassemble and clean, their mechanics are very simple, they're versatile and there are very few parts that can wear or break. The fine tuning screws on the bushing cap are functional and the wheelstops are something that all racing trucks should incorporate....once you have them set, you just leave them and change the bushings....

The GOG is a great design. However, I've got a word of caution to those that might think a PVD is inferior. It can't be, even in the adjustable PVD 1 Type. Why? Well, this is from someone who skates and is a machinist. The PVD's (all of them) were built with the idea of sustainable maintenance and as such, won't develop slop in the Baseplates that isn't repairable. The curved groove on the "X" GOG is a place where, over the Years, slop will occur, and it'll be un-fixable. This has little bearing on the current, new, GOG truck, but rather is a look into the future. I'm NOT saying that the GOG is a bad truck. Hardly. Nor is it actually going to be at a disadvantage compared with PVD's, Radikals, nor Airflow or Asphalt Playground trucks. Not on Race Day in the Near future.

But, A few years from now....

So;

Keep your PVD's.

It'll be awhile before I can afford to make anything like them.

....and when CAN they be had? I was on Maria's list for a rear GOG (or 2) when she had them, but I guess things have changed? In the current market, how does one dedicated PVD user obtain an autographed Jason Mitchell GOG in the US so that an accurate comparison can be made without being flamed? I saw a pic of a table in Paris with several on it. Were those for sale? I've offered to trade a PVD for a GOG with no interest, so they must be good.

PVD's are unusual......and they ride different than anything else, so CIV's actually probably right about what he said (God forgive me for admitting that)....

but not so sure about the pase' description

Gullwing splits, Strokers, Old Turners/Icks, Original Z's, Sims and Dogtowns, etc......There's better current stuff out than all those too, as far as performance goes, but they all made their mark....PVD's will find their own collectible niche' one day as well...

besides.......and be honest...........they look pretty damn cool

And GOG rears would be great.........WHEN they can be had
