FS: Fibreflex Response 3-ply

Post by Wes Eastridge » Sat May 10, 2003 4:35 am

Fibreflex Response 3-ply, 2001 model. $40. Has been ridden and the nose has been dented after striking a curb, no big deal though. Still good as new performance-wise. Full-black grip tape is installed.

Shipping from the DC area to anywhere in USA is included.

Fatty,

My 70lb son Nick rides a 3 ply, don't think they are much good over 150lbs.

Marty Schaub? That name sounds familiar to someone who spent a lot of time (probably too much) reading SkateBoarder magazine in the late '70s and early '80s. Welcome to the site! I don't have anything to say about whether the board is still available, but I would like to say that if you're interested in doing some slaloming, try to get in touch (via this site) with Rick Stanziale over in Athens, Georgia. Looks like you live not too far away from him. He's one of the true ambassadors of the current slalom scene and a really cool guy (regardless of what Jeff Goad says about him :-)).

Yup it's me

Hey Jonathan,

Yup, same La Costa Boy. Just older with a job, wife & kids, mortgage, etc. I have already contacted Rick. It's been years since I have rode slalom, so I need to ease into all this first. Promised the wife I would ouitfit all the safety gear first before I got stupid and broke something important. I plan on going to the Georgia contest as it's only 30 minutes away. Also, I plan on hooking up with Rick after a few flatland rounds by myself too.

This isn't longboarding down my street, ya know?

Good on ya, Marty. I generally don't even THINK of riding without a helmet, and most of the time it's full pads as well. Gives you a bit more peace of mind.

HEY, WES E!!! ANSWER MARTY'S QUESTION!!! DID YOU SELL THE BOARD YET??? (Funny, I don't think he can hear me.) :-)

happy to be corrected, but i seem to think there were two versions of the 3-ply response. a softer one and a stiffer one. reason i say this is that i've got a 'stiff' 3-ply response and i seem to remember having to specify this when i ordered it.

anyway, i weigh in at about 200lb and its ok under me (although admitedly my more recent decks do flex less).

p.s. whilst function may have overtaken form, the response still stands as a beutiful looking deck.

I still have this deck. This is the original (softer) model. Good for someone under 140 lbs. I don’t have a good camera but will try to have something up if anyone is interested.

jmerica might want it.

a guy posted on NCDSA a few days ago- he's been slaloming with his son, he had the long post about thalidimide

but he definitely needs a short deck (he's using randals right now) to get going with. I think he had trouble finding decks. He is too heavy for the deck....but his son would be perfect for it.

Sorry,

I haven't been that light since I was 13. No pic necessary.
