Nec aspera terrent.

[a thought]

I've always wanted to have a contest.

A race, each of us gets to pick out a sport, each of us races each other in their chosen sport.

I would choose, hmm, speed gliding...

Darwin would win.

Cheers you pink pussy cat.

You forget a lot of things in Winter time. The above picture somehow reminded me that I need to get in touch with Wild Bill and pick up a new pair of wristguards:

Post by Sam Gordon » Thu Sep 30, 2004 9:10 pm

I can see only three words in that picture - 'DAMN/ FINE and BLOKE.'
Which means that there must be 997 equally complimentary on the back. Presumably right next to a large pile of misplaced daggers.

Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing. Let's see no more please, Mr Campbell.

That'll be the same chap, Joe. It's a shame that you won't be at Morro this year; I was rather hoping for a bit of competition in the 'genteel' category of slalom racing.

As for my garden, I have now allowed it to be taken over by nasturtiums and molluscs. Up until the end of July, the latter beasts are bagged up in polythene, taken out front and anchored to the base of a bucket of water.

Tends to bring the blighters out of their shells a little.

The survivors have free rein for the second half of the year, after the flowering season.

By the way Slough sends this message of victory:

Thanks for the tips, I hope all's well over your side of the Atlantic and I trust that we shall 'cross swords' again sometime soon!

As best wishes as this forum allows,

Sam

Sam,

I want to thank you for keeping this forum fresh. You Brits are OK by me. Warm beer, Lulu, Football riots, Benny Hill, and now loads of poopoo jokes. Woo hoo!

Are you the same guy that was talking to me so enthusiastically about his garden at the Paris race. Bit of a Jekyl and Hyde, huh? Wait, those two guys are British too, right?

I can't be in Morro this year. I'll miss racing with you and discussing the merits of Slough based sitcoms. Good luck and remember your sunscreen.

Yer pal,
Joe

I dunno. Bit of fake tan and Lance Armstrong'd be jealous of those legs.

Besides, it looks like the fine upstanding lad is just passing a sporting 'doughnut au chocolat.' Nothing wrong with a bit of weight saving. As Tommy Steele in polite society once enquired, "What does a man do standing up, a woman do sitting down and an dog do on three legs?"

which dark secret lures behind the cloth?
is this fellow pissing at the tourists,or what else is his left hand trying to do?

The dark side of the Scone.

Post by John Gilmour » Fri Sep 24, 2004 9:36 pm

The Dark Side of the Scone.

One day a scone was upset because he wanted to become a
Bagel so he entered a contest deemed a bagel contest,
unfortunately he put in a doughnut level performance.

Later he decided he was bagel because in his area he
was one of the best even though one
other doughnut, M. Toomuch, was better than him. Later another donut
took over his "snack scene" and
became a Bagel.

Since the scone always wanted to be a bagel but couldn't
become a bagel he doesn't want to be thought of as a
non bagel so his newest idea is to abolish the bagel
class and make us all doughnuts.

Yet still he will not race with the doughnuts. Because he is a scone.

Scone

Main Entry: scone
Pronunciation: 'skOn, 'skän
Function: noun
Etymology: A doughnut who scorns those who
run cones faster than him. SCone + cONE = SCONE

Start racing again.
-it's not how you finish- it's that you play the game.

Yes! How about a .1 penalty for everytime an arm swings above one's chest and .5 if it goes above the head? This ain't speed ice-skating - we have a style rep to live up to, ha!

Although John Gilmour has pointed out to me (in email advice - thanks John!) that arm action would indeed make a skinny guy like me faster, I still can't help but think that there are more important things in life than being faster!

I think I just remembered why I like surfing more than skateboarding...

...and what is the flapping of the arms other than an extraneous misexpenditure of energy. As you can see from the avatar on my post I'm not a proponent of the flustered bird look anyway.

Bruce Brewington has style. It's a style reminiscent of a little old lady crossing the street pushing a shopping cart. The difference being the old lady GETS HER ARMS UP!

Style!

Post by Andy Bittner » Fri Sep 24, 2004 3:19 am

Dude! Who said anything about a decree? I speak for myself and myself alone, and when it comes to style, Bruce Brewington's got it all over you, Wesley. Just because you ride parallel doesn't automatically mean you have style. When Bruce rides, it looks like he's stealthily sneaking up on someone; a smooth, cat-like slink. When you ride, it looks like you're trying to look, and are convinced that you are, stylish. Furthermore, what does style matter when it comes to winning races. You and I need to have a parallel-stance race. I'm still pretty sure I'd smoke you. That's a good thing too, because when it comes to style... I have none.

That air jordan comment cracked me up.

Best slalom caption of all time.

I sold some Air Jordans used on Ebay (Some guy in Japan bought them for $175) the same week I met Ed Economy my coach. Those old shoes got me to WLAC.

Lee used the situation to his best ability by making a little shadow art. Here we see his pastiche of the Air Jordan jumper logo on the tarmac, the balls of whom are about to be nipped by a mini shadow bulldog.

This man came fourth in the German 'natural emissions' Championships which led to a very good, chilled performance in the Euros at Koln:

I did?

I simply stated taht I have naked pictures of you, Joe. Well, not all naked. And your shirt covers half your butt anyway. So, what are you worried about.

In all fairness, I guess you're right. I did kind of start it. So, Joe as an apology, that picture will be...hidden, never to be seen by anyone. You need not keep yourself up at night worrying that some teenage girl in Bulgaria, or some big Bubba in a maximum security penetentary are getting off on your bare butt posted somewhere on the internet.

Consider the picture destroyed, unless....you want me to send you a copy of it. You sort of have this look on your face like you were about to fart.

Have a great day.
