I'm definitely going to have to pick up a set! Does anybody know why they are "rail" style?

The rail style from what I've understand: not one wedge piece as large as your truck, but two narrow pieces, one for each side (two screws) like you can see on the pictures on the sk8kings website.

Simple, production costs... Less plastic, less cost.
Of course, you can still believe in the possiblity that it's for better aerodynamics ;-)

Weight, cost, aerodynamics, space... they save a lot and probably worth a try ;)

The main advantage I've noticed over traditional one piece risers is that with the hareware not being tied together by one unit it's easier to get the truck seated against the riser.

Thats true, but I still find it REALLY time consuming and difficult. especially when I installed my radical.

Ah, but the rails are also Super Convenient for dewedging the rear truck on a drop-thru...or the front. That crafty Bob...nice thinking!!

I've been using one of the rail kits for setups of boards we test on another website, and just built another up last night. It's when I use the kit that I am reminded what a KILLER product it is: first, it's easy to wedge at different angles; second, the wedges are designed with the minimum height possible--they go down to very thin leading edges on the larger/higher wedges. I like stuff that makes my life easy.
