Looks like I will be making the call as early on friday as possible. Weather reports vary.May be just rain/sleet mix. Should dry by saturday am. er,I hope.

Jim,
Econo Lodge (I-95 Exit 126)
5321 Jefferson Davis Hwy
Fredericksburg, Virginia 22408
540-898-5440
You can priceline a room for $35. If you just "name your own price" for F'Burg, you'll either get the Econo Lodge or the Days Inn four miles farther up the interstate. Jefferson Davis Hwy is Exit 126 and the Days Inn is at Exit 130. With Va. tax it's like $45 total. I also buy the cancellation insurance for $5 just in case. The motel is 40 miles from Fountainhead, so it's as convenient and cheap as anything you'll find closer to the District.
Breakfast included which includes eggs cook to order. A little better than just donuts and cold cereal.
If you and Carl stay there, we'll hook up Saturday morning. Oh, one other thing: if you and Carl are travelling together, you should call the hotel after you get a reservation to CONFIRM you get a room with twin doubles, unless you and Mr. Surly have a thing we don't know about?
Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Could one of you guys give me directions to this event?
I found some general directions based on stuff said on this forum, but I'd like to make sure I'm going to the right place.
Any suggestions for a hotel? It looks like it's about 5 hours from Raleigh, so I'll be leaving Friday night and staying somewhere near the event.
WT... you said you were staying in Fredricksburg, right? Where is that hotel?
