Thanks Claude and Jani.
The UKGSA gave us a very generous offer on public liability insurance so that we were able to run this event. As you are aware, places to race in the UK are few and far between because of the high costs from all angles.
By running this small event at the cycle track we were able to take the risk of running an introduction to slalom, despite the possibility of poor weather. And boy did the wind and rain kick in!
Nevertheless, it was a great excuse for a skater get-together, and for that reason alone we will be happy to run it again.
Good on all those skaters who braved the weather and gave racing a go!

Octane Sport and CCR present an informal slalom bash at Hillingdon Cycle Track:

If you haven't tried slalom before, then now's the time to give that urban surfing thang a whirl. Sign up is on the day.
...and if you know what it's about, then this event should shake of those winter webs and get you in the mood for a summer of fast carving competition.
Let's go!
