Sorry we have been away for so long...

Post by David Hegstrom » Wed Nov 15, 2006 12:36 am

Sorry we have been away from this website for so long...I had a hard time getting my password info together...Skaterbuilt is seing alot of slalom deck interest. We now even have a "Slalom w/ Mike Maysey" forum on our message board!

Check it out: http://com3.runboard.com/bskaterbuilt.f5

...AND IN SKATERBUILT SLALOM NEWS-

Skaterbuilt is putting together a team roster together in order to rival (in a friendly way) the Sk8Kings "Axe Army"...

So, let's see....

We've got (so far):

Mike "The Axe-Murderer" Maysey -CA West Coast GS Champ/World TS Champ/Surfer

Dave "dAvO" Hegstrom -CA all-arounder/Slalom Pro, SB owner/Surfer

Hagbarth "Haggy" Strom - 05' - 06' Aussie Champ/Surfer

Miguel "BigMig" Marcos -CANADIAN Podium Regular

Chris "13" Stepanek -East Coast underground legend

Mark "Gumby" Gosser -THE Fastest dude in TX and TexasPoolShark

Greg Stubbs -TX brother and TexasPoolShark

Bill "SillyBilly" Wahl -CA all-arounder/Slalom Pro/Surfer

John "JJ" Corning -San Diego, CA all-arounder/Slalom Pro/Surfer

Gary Fluitt -CO legend

Rodney Cassell - TN's fastest

The Beast - TN's 2nd fastest Slalom ripper

Tim Shawl - TN Skate Artist/Slalom Fan/SB's in-house graphic designer

Enrik Wadsten - Swedish Open Class Phenom

Olga Kesilyova - Russian Femme Ripper,Paris Women's Champ

Vlad "The Russian Rocket" Popov - slalom-ace from Moscow to D.C.

We need some more recruits gang...this is gonna be really cool! Please let us know if you know of other slalom skaters winning or racing on Skaterbuilt ConeKiller and Maysey decks.

BTW- We're calling ourselves:

"THE CONEKILLER MAFIA"

Slalom skateboarding really needs this type of competitive rivalry going on-keeps things interesting.

F*CK Yeah!

Dave -- The AXE Army is all about good sportsmanship and racing as hard as we can at every race. SK8KINGS started the AXE Army to help build commeraderie and help grow the sport in a positive way. We're not interested in your so called friendly rivalry. This kind of meathead attitude is the reason I distanced myself from our local scene -- the SSS -- in the first place. See you at the races.

RICHY.............Meathead attitude? WTF??? What's with all the seriousness?... Come on man...it's me here...

This IS friendly camaraderie my friend-all for fun and to promote slalom skateboarding-so, what's the prob? I thought we could all be on the same page with this and have some good old fashioned F-U-N...again-but, I quess you can't.

As far as "distancing yourself" at races goes...sounds like you've got a personal problem or something...I don't know...but, I don't like the sounds of it. Pretty strange. I've been nothing but out-going and bro-like with you and your fam for years-so, this is all new to me. Ain't steppin' on your toes-so, no worries. The ConeKiller Mafia is just something for fun and that's all...and I plan to continue with it-with or without your blessing. This is no attack-so don't take it as one. IMO, the sport needs more stuff like this REAL bad.

Anyways, all I can say is I truly wish you good luck with your endeavors and may the good Lord bless you, your fam, and Sk8Kings.

Dave

Rivalry

Post by Jim Weatherwax » Sat Nov 18, 2006 6:01 pm

WHY CANT WE ALL JUST GET A LONG...BOARD.....

come on guys...keep it fun, you guys are both great dudes..(and dudeet in Marias case)

Infighting in local crews sucks, lifes to short to fight over the little shit that goes on in skating (Unless some kook blows your pool)

I proudly financially support the Axe Army and the Skaterbuilt Mafia....I ride PPS ( Brown Bomber), SKaterbuilt and Pavel
Devon rides Axes and Trey rides both...
.....WAX ARMY....

as Kenny says...Aint no time to hate...

Hey Im getting a Skatebuilt and joining the mafia..!

Im pretty far removed from you fellas... But Davo has been super cool to me and has always talked about a friendly rivalry as far as Ive seen and been involved.. So Richy.. I think you've gotten the wrong impression and the only bad vibes have come from you with the meathead mentality comment.
Thanks DaVo...... I'll be in touch.
Im still waiting for the specs on the MM-H..
Thanks Ric

Right on Ric! Yep, it seems that some folks are wound a little bit too tight around here...and I ain't one of em'...I thought this could be a really fun "staged" "tonque-in-cheek" type thing...but, I quess not...no worries......we coulda had alotta fun with this but-it ain't no fun if Richy ain't into it...it would be a one-sided deal only...oh well, all I'm really gonna do now is just make a few t's and stickers for SB Slalom riders/friends/customers and anyone else who's interested...Gosh, now there won't be any type of staged/fun rivalry at all...because of seriously thin skin. Who's really the meathead here anyway? Not me...I'm just a JACKASS. hehehehe.

Ric: The new Maysey Hybrid measures in at: 8.8 x 33 with 4 wheelbases from 19/19.5-20/20.5

Maysey's decks now come in 3 sizes as do our CK's!!!!Stoked.

Honored to have you as a member of the CK Mafia Ric!

take care.

you can't start the 'Axe Army' without expecting another manufacturer to start their own thing for fun... Just as the Axe Army is there for camaraderie and building the scene, so is the Skaterbuilt Mafia, or any other informal club/org for that matter. Slalom is too small to take this stuff so seriously - i just wanna hang out and ride with my bros!!

Don't sweat it Dave! your decks rule and i'm proud to be riding em.

I'm also stoked for my good friend Bugs here in Oz who is a huge fan of the Axe's, we have a friendly rivalry - the emphasis being on 'friendly'!!!

peace out to you all...
