oh damn

but......
how about the ultimate clash then?
G.O.G. against the PIRATES?

we can work something out and all of you come over to get your asses wopped.

this would be tons of fun and the best of battles.

my idea:
regular race and after that we set up some teams similar to the nations cup thing.
we have at least 4 countries there and we can do that.
i would also like to see a team from berlin, definitely

so we can go like this.

what do you guys think
i think it's dope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh damned
a Gang Race :-)
this looks very fun for sure.

We were thinking about doing a bigger race for the last 2007 Pirate Race, with ramps, prizes & teeshirts... and we were hoping for some challenge coming from germany and elsewhere.

This GOG race immediatly get an international interest and most of us Pirates want to come race and have fun with you all.

So we'll will change the date of our Pirate Final. Updated date will come soon and we're still hoping to see some of you.

I want to vote so I'm not sure I will be able to be with you... so ...
Go PIRATES, GOOOOOOOO !

We change the date for our final race, not to be on the same WE as the GOG race.

Last Pirate will be held on April the 1st, at the Trocadero.

Hope to see many racers... it will be a good training for PSWC.
We will have some stuff for everyone, hope to get our Riderz Starting Ramps and some Pirates 2007 shirts.

bummer...
when we do the indoor contest i want to limit the wheel size to 25 mms.
also full saftey gear is required and no music.
first of all each racer has to fill out a 3 page application which entitles him also to
the subscription of several useless magazines and a russian car, which is not allowed
to drive on german streets, due to safety hazards.
we also strongly enforce used number-trikots.
we have a meeting room nearby where the organizer will meet with the staff(49 people)
to discuss the event and drink heavy booze.
once the organizer is drunk enough,we'll start the race.
girls attending have to show proof to the organizer that they are girls(hehehe).
ceremony later on is hedl by the böhler blaskapelle and each visitor who paid 99 euros
entrance fee will get a free pack of handkerchiefs to dry the tears.

the event itself is promoted by me with flyers made out of cheap toilet paper and spread in the neighbourhoods mailboxes.

i want to thank my mother, who is the main sponsor this year!!!
1st gets a used hairdryer
2nd gets staceys old underwear
3rd gets a slap in the face
4th to 10th get a warm handshake

the organizer himself gets all the money and will spend the rest of the evening at the rethelstr.75.
Sounds like a great race, though I'm a little worried that you didn't specify any board restrictions.

Donald, you really should use a mask when you build boards out of polyester :)

Any chance of details on race location, hill, transport from airport etc?
We can sort ourselves out provided we know in roughly which direction to head.

Or perhaps we should turn up at the airport expecting to be blindfolded, spun around a couple of times and bundled into the back of a van? If so then I'll pack the gimp outfit. Get the catering pack of talcom powder ready! Sauuuuuceeeeeeeee!!!

Hi guys,

Need to book flights. When should I arrive? Friday? If I'm coming this far, I'd like to pack as much fun in as possible. Do we have a schedule yet?

I will rent car and drive over from Schipol. Need some idea on the hill so I pack correctly.

ALSO

I'll be in Zoetermeer for the week after looking to skate or hang out.

joe you should come friday bring a 34" deck that should be ok...
we can talk later about directions you have to take and stuff

this is a possible hill we may call#1 right now, there's more in the forest

average speed 40+

trying to keep it low there very good and large runout area.
with the right ramp we can add 10+ to the whole thing

other venues such as the indoor hall with plastic surface,20 meters long,go to russia again.

we'll start from the seldom used beginning of the actual road.overall length will be around 300 meters i think
the first section delivers the necessary speed along with the ramp we will have for that event it will be fast, lots of flow and drive involved too.
overall length will result in times around 50-60 secs then
again : bring boards around 34".

and before this is forgotten:credits for getting this street leaglized by the city all go to steve backförmchen hinzen.
he was the man who followed through on that quest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Believe me, its steep enough for getting pretty fast ! :-)

since we think that road is NOT steep enough we will add the ramp,or to say the topping on the icecone.

7 feet high
you don't see the bottom of the ramp when rolling in
you get really fast right from the start.

all riders are welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Fred, I'll let you chew my fingernails clean off if I can use your PortaPotty a coupla' times before the start.

Besides, I still owe you for your blistering run in Brix. And, come to think of it, Donald.

Better stop now. This list could run and run.

sam is a gentleman and has ALWAYS a portable toilet with him which he generously offers to strangers now and then.
the ramp is fast and fun maybe a bit scary for others,we'll film the highlights...
pushstart is also possible,i got overruled, sad to say so but at least the pushstart happens in the dimensions of the ramp, right next to it.so whoever pushstarts has no chance anyway

No worries, guys! You're all going to make it down the ramp, safe! After You made it You'll love it.

It's like going down any other starting ramp, just longer and, o.k., maybe a bit steeper.
Right now I got the feeling that I should build the ramp higher. I could easily ad another 10 cm.

As Donald said chicken-pushstart means you lose.
Look at Danny Way's starting ramps. And the guy can't even slalom, can he?

Should we use this ramp for this year's Giant race in Hanover ?

yeah we got to put the beginners into consideration i know that
i tend to make the stuff a bit gnar here and there
but the experienced(more or less) get the chance to skate a bit harder this time
the faster you go the sketchier the course will be,the slower skaters will enjoy the ride down there,so no neckbreaking stuff.
oh yes,i forgot to say how sad we all are because chris hart had to cancel his trip down to the race.
here's a shoutout to chris:we miss you and we love you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you just make sure that there are handles on the top of the ramp to hold on to, and something at the back to stop the board from falling off... i'm kind of scared of heights... :(
Other than that, the height and angle looks cool... reminds me of the ramps in latvia... :)

hey flavio: when you come sunday you are likely to pass eindhoven, venlo and then on to the autobahn heading towards mönchengladbach directing the way to neuss and düsseldorf,
if you come saturday give me a ring reg accomodation.
we are very likely having at least a practice race on saturday and a bowl party at least
accomodation, cheapest,is the newly made düsseldorf youth hostel:
http://www.djh.de/de/jugendherbergen/vi ... p?IDJH=442

you can reach them under 0049211557310
rates are 22.50 incl breakfast smallest rooms a re 2 bed but since this event is off-season the house will be pretty empty anyway.

when in cologne here's a printout of a map:
Image

coming from düsseldorf:
take the a57 from krefeld to köln
köln/nord exit to the a1 heading koblenz
exit hürth, right turn at the traffic lights
after approx 1km you will see an industry complex to the left, enter the street heading into that complex, driving through that complex for approx 2kms you will notice the street going uphill a bit,you will also pass and old transport band built right a bove the street, after that band it's only 200m and the street opens up a bitheading into a right hand curve.at that curve make a left and you are there.
you can always reach me:00491775141438 if you face any problems going there.
if you want a clearer vsion of the map shown here go to:map 24.com
type in as target:köln,otto-maigler-see.

if someone wants to sleep near the race location go to this youth hostel:

http://www.villehaus.de/

As far as I know it's 5 minutes by car to the race location.

Its 16.80€ for 1 night and breakfast.

But for the Bowl Party its better you stay at Don's Yoth Hostel ! (see above!)
