Love the orange...
Just found my all-time fave wheel! The new orange 84A Hot Spot. A great duro to use as a front on rougher surfaces or as a rear when the road is smooth. The wheel is lovely to ride, predictable grip, super smooth and in a colour that makes your mouth water! Two of us podiumed at Wasteland on it in its first outing here, with the trusty new blue 76A in the rear. Very cool combo...Looking forward to Grenoble's smooth racetrack and sticking purple 89's on the front with the 84's on the back....should be faaaaast!
Thanks Dan for the hard work!

I love my Hot Spot wheels. The red ones are fast, yet on rough pavement my fillings aren't jarred loose like with those hard wheels my kid rides. Gonna stack 'em up against my soft Grippins soon. Both are used on longboards so it's not like the world will end if the Hot Spots aren't as grippy. The Grippins are on a 40" concave deck w/ Revenge trux and the Hot Spots are on a 32" potatoe chip deck w/ Randals. I'll pull the ole switcharoo and see.

It's worth trying!!
For my weight (52kg) green and yellow HotSpots were unbelievably grippy (but they were new and used only 4-5 times) The surface was sandy and covered with oil spots. Turns are faster then with my lovely Grippins (78a-84a). But they seemed a bit noisier as they are harder than these Grippins...

Mmmmm, it's lovely

I would not welcome the Hot Spot as the new Avalon because there's still a certain difference between the two wheels.
Neither of them can replace the other.
The HotSpot does feel faster (but this depends also on the course I think)
It's more turny and controlable but it doesn't feel grippier to me.
Just my opinion...

From geoskates:
so they are taller and thinner. they say also that 78a/75a its a nice combo. would love to try them on and compare them to the avalons. especially in the back to see how grippier they are.We developed this new shape to roll through turns faster without compromising grip. Taller and thinner than the Avalon, the Hot Spot features a slightly squared lip that bevels inward at a small angle. It's a perfect complement to your race box and an outstanding choice for all-purpose longboarding, cruising and Old School styling.

hotspots are the new Avalons
