All you need to do is say "yes I'd like to run a race" on this thread.
Run the race and 'document it' in a proper way (i.e timer and video/photo) and you are good (do you need to have video of the actual fastest run, or just any run to show the course).

And the records to beat are:

Masters = if you are 45yrs or older on the day of the race?
Junior = if you have not yet turned 16 on the day of the race?
Women = if you not yet have become male at the day of the race?

Please help me fill in the blanks. Thank you!
1) yes, notify here (and i suggest in contest calendar too) -- all events will share the same sanction (PRIME)

2) documentation: photos, measurements (video not required) see here:
http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/ISSA/ ... ecords.pdf

3) records to beat: http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/ISSA/ ... ecords.pdf
PLUS -- jack smith will be submitting some 50-cone records from the US Nationals

4) masters age 45+ on day of race ; Jr age is 17 or less in calendar year of race
see rules here: http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/ISSA/ ... S-2008.pdf

thank you for running a WR event!

Getting better...but getting older.

Here was last night's wheel testing (thanks Dan!)...

Hopefully I won't be in the midst of emigrating and will be able to 'have a go' at an 'official' venue somewhere...maybe we should run one in the UK with Louis, Paul Price, Sam and co.,Hyde Park could work really well.We have Ella and jack too who could potentially record World record times at Women/Junior level too.

Martin.

Ok, so just to make everything crystal clear for schmucks like me.
All you need to do is say "yes I'd like to run a race" on this thread.
Run the race and 'document it' in a proper way (i.e timer and video/photo) and you are good (do you need to have video of the actual fastest run, or just any run to show the course).

And the records to beat are:
25 cones
Men - 8.11
Women - N/A
Jr - N/A
Master - N/A

50 cones
Men - 12.5something
Women - N/A
Jr - N/A
Master - N/A

100 cones
Men - 20.56
Women - 23.55
Jr - 33.98
Master - N/A

Masters = if you are 45yrs or older on the day of the race?
Junior = if you have not yet turned 16 on the day of the race?
Women = if you not yet have become male at the day of the race?

We will have qualifications so that only the ones that are able to beat a record will be allowed to race (actually so that we can skip the cyber).

Please help me fill in the blanks. Thank you!

I possibly can't because we'll be on our Abiturreise then...otherwise: sure!

That's an unsourced and undated quote. Where does it come from?

It probably won't be any audience, but we'll run some very fast runs. I think we have good venues for all three races.

We will be going after it in So Cal. We will be Video shooting this for proof of times and send to ISSA for Verification! We will take shots of the Times on the display after good runs!

Tentative plans to run all 3 events (25, 50, 100-cone) WORLD RECORD attempts in either Seattle or Portland on June 6-7. More details in about 3 weeks......

Contest sanction established for WORLD RECORD Weekend.

Post by Pat Chewning » Sat Jun 07, 2008 6:55 am

September 6-7

The idea is to get local race organizers to add their venue to the sanction already established for this weekend.

RACE ORGANIZERS: Please consider adding a local venue for World Record attempts on this weekend. Please read this contest sanction and the WORLD RECORD rules. You are required to do special documentation and measurements to validate the results. If you then decide you want to join in, then post a message here.

2008 ISSA World Record Weekend -- discussion

Post by Pat Chewning » Sat Jun 07, 2008 6:48 am

I would like to propose that we (the ISSA) sponsor a WORLD RECORDS weekend.

Something like this:
We establish a PRIME sanction for the WORLD RECORD weekend.
Contest organizers can run any (or all) of the 3 courses (25-cone, 50-cone, 100-cone) on that weekend.
Contests will be run all over the world.
We gather the results and congratulate the new WORLD RECORD holders (there will be some).
The ISSA solicits prizes from sponsors and we get those prizes to the people.

Maybe a sponsor will give cash or merchandise or gift certificate.
It would be acceptable if a sponsor were to give a special prize if a WORLD RECORD were to be set using that sponsor's equipment.

The ISSA publishes framed certificates of World Record for the winners.
I will be happy to take the lead for this, but am seeking guidance, comments, volunteers.

Comments are welcome.
