Indeed I am. I found a good fare to Duesseldorf. An unnamed manufacturer in that vicinity assured me he could arrange some sort of transpo to Zurich. :-) (Flights to Zurich were 200 dollars more. :-()
I'm sure it will work out. If you bring a tent Pelle, you can camp in my backyard!
However, I might have to introduce myself to Pelle and sweet-talk him into letting me share his tent!

I would like to offer floor space but George Pappas and Claude Regnier as well as some Germans have already claimed all the space I have.

I'm sure it will work out. If you bring a tent Pelle, you can camp in my backyard!

Standard courses can be expected. TS won't be too hard, you're right. We will do a good job, no worries ;)

So you're coming, Mr. JBH?

I got some crappy quality pics of the tunnel surface. I'd say it's not too smooth but alright.

If I know the swiss folks right I will guess that the surface is smooth as Pelle´s head.
I hope for an open course........the last time I was riding tight straight in Stockholm I took down 20 of 40-50 cones.....and I didn´t won anything for that.

No worries.....I have learn a bit since then.

Its true that 161 bought a castle (we used less than 1% of the amount that we earned in the first week of sales on our new truck) however due to a minor mistake we won't have access until may 1:st so we are about as desperate as Pelle.

Raymundo (and Claude); this is the "doh!" question, but I ask it anyways since I like to pack light and make room for trophies (or at least booze) on the way home. What will the courses be like? My guess is kind of open since we are under a tight schedule and we don't wanna count cones all day, but on the other hand if I know RMN correct you prefer TS. Can I leave my TS board at home?

Weehoo - one week to go!

Pelle is.....and in a desperate need for a floor to sleep on in Zürich.
I don´t know what the hotelstaff think about having an extra secret guest during nights.
Maybe someone living nearby have a space for him to crash on?
I have heard that the 161-team have bought a castle nearby.......maybe they have a tiny corner in the cellar?

Rider Limit Changed

Post by Ramón Königshausen » Thu Apr 02, 2009 11:42 am

Due to schedule announcements by the Tunnel Fest, we'll have to cut back on participants. So far 64 riders are registered.

The limit will be set to 65. Whoever pays first gets a spot.

Sorry about this. Otherwise we would not be able to get done by the day.

Prize purse will be announced shortly. Next update by THU.

Changes may apply and will be confirmed to you by E-Mail one week before the event. Make sure you check your e-mail for the latest updates!

--------

Info for the Outlaw Race on Sunday

The outlaw GS will take place outside of town at about 30km from Zurich.

Driving directions:

Address of venue (B): Sihleggstrasse 21, 8832 Wollerau, Switzerland‎

Address of parking (A): Bachtobelstrasse, 8832 Wollerau, Switzerland

From Autobahn A3:

MAP & DIRECTIONS

The best option with your Westfest ticket would be to use your free train ride on Saturday night to Richterswil and lodge in the Youth Hostel there. Like this I would be able to pick you up for the race on Sunday.

Youth Hostel Richterswil

Zurich Public Transport Website

If this doesn't work out for you it would be nice if some of you that, despite our wonderful public transport, decide to have a rental car, would car pool. Also, some of the Zurich locals will be driving to the Outlaw in Wollerau. Means if you're nice to them on Saturday, they'll for sure give you a ride on Sunday ;)

Will there be a slalomshop in the area with silly sheap prizes? Will I be able to buy G.O.G-basplates? Do the sponsor´s hunt for fat bastards who they will pay huge amounts of money to? Will the T-shirt fit?

Am I a bit nervous?

Registration Update!

Hi guys,

I just wanted to let you know that we're already past the 40 registered racers mark. 34 spots are left.

12 of 20 Pros have paid
16 of 27 Ams have paid
0 of 3 Women have paid

To see the list of racers click here

For those who haven't paid yet, just to remind you:

Your registration will only be valid after the entry fee has been provided. First come first served! Your confirmation email will double as your WestFest ticket. The entry fee will only be reimbursed if you can provide a doctor's certificate for that day.

You better be there! ;-)

I'm pleased to announce that we already reached half the number of possible registrations at this race. Currently, there are 41 registered racers.

Half of them has already paid their entry fee and their self-printable tickets will be on the way soon. (I have then on my computer)

Please note that I am still on my North America / Australia trip. So even if your payment is done and appears as ticked off on our homepage, it may take 5-7 days, depending on where I am and on if I have access to the Internet, until delivery.

Everyone who has paid will receive their ticket one week before the race the latest.

thanks for your understanding,

We might be able to work out a deal with one of the local youth hostels.

Keep you up to date. Maurus should be dealing with it.

But I'll post soon.

For those among you who can read German, the Slalom World Cup has been mentioned in a Newspaper recently.

Check it out:

EDIT:

Have a look inside!

Sign up will be online in about 2-3 weeks on www.burningwheelstour.ch

We will have a limited number of racers. If the number of racers exeeds the maximum, we would like to use the world ranking to determine who gets the spot. (Sure, people who have booked their flights before TODAY Feb 2nd have higher priority because they didn't know)

But we'll see. Once the sign up is up I can tell you more.

It is Saturday, April 25th.

The official tunnel race will take place on April 25th and features Tight and Hybrid Slalom.

On April 26th, we might be able to run an Outlaw GS/HS session out of town if the weather is good. But don't take this for granted!

Where did you see the "official" thread? This is the official thread.

Ramon,

Is it going to be 25/4 (Sat) or 26/4 (Sun) (or both?). If both, which competitions when (tightm hybrid, GS, etc)?. On your first post in this thread says 25/4 but on the "official" competition thread says 26/4.

If its 20 pros and I make it to the comp I'll bring a cake to share at the startramp (will this cause a delay?)!
