There are some British and Americans who would like to attend I think.

Please can we have some information on the best way to travel from Prague and the best deal for a place to stay?

Can we get advise on which Hotel is best and negotiate a special rate for racers?

If all the skaters stay in the same hotel it would be better. Last year we booked rooms and the Swedes took them and we had to find somewhere else!

Also some English translations would make it all easier. Thanks

I will have a serious talk with the Swedes about this! Shame on us!!

I have booked the OPUS hotel for the Gothenburg-crew, 8 or maybe more. It´s close to the tight-course and really sheap. Nothing fancy at all but who cares...it´s a bed.

Hi Paul,
for info on the races are web links to accommodation. All hotels are in the center. Luxury Guest House is 555 or the Pension Parkan, everything is standard in restaurants. Prices range in the conversion of 15 - 30 Euro up per person. Transport you to find www.idos.cz where trains and buses from Prague to Polička, there is also public transport. If you need advice Write.
Hi and I can not wait. Radim

so you'll both have the traditional race around the fountain, and then also a dual lane at the same spot?

what i can recall the hill we're talking about is going uphill ( ha ha)
Well at least i know i don't have to practice on any steep hills for hybrid slalom...

looking forward to come though!!!

Hi Emrik,
race around the fountain is traditional, we can no longer 20 years old and must be. This will be the last. Next year will be square and repair slalom already there never fails. Today we had a meeting in the pub on the square and asked the innkeeper if coming. I remember you too and enjoy.

Policka Accommodation

Post by Sam Gordon » Mon Aug 03, 2009 2:42 pm

We seem to be having a little difficulty sorting out accommodation for the UK bunch (Paul Price/ Louis Selby and Sam Gordon).

I sent this message to both Hotel Pivovar and Restaurace a pension Na Parkánech (where we stayed last year) but have had no response:

"Hello Hotel Pivovar,

Do you have accommodation for three people from Thursday 6th August until Monday 10 August, that is to say, 4 nights? We would prefer one room for all three with separate beds (twin room plus one), but would like to know what might be available. Please can you let us know the cost of the various options. We are on a small budget, so would prefer the most economical route!"

I called the hotel yesterday and they answered, but do not speak English and put the phone down!

Is there one of the Czek organising team (Petr/ Radim) who can help us out a little and book accommodation as described above? It would be a huge help!

I can be contacted on: jsbgordon@gmail.com

Many thanks,

Sam

Hi Sam.

I also tried to contact alot of the hotels, but did not get any answers.

If you don´t succeed, I have booked the G-burg crew at the OPUS, the only one that got back to me.
Not the most glamourus place, but really nice prize.

A very nice lady ( Hana Chalupnikova ) answered very fast and fixed everything.

Her mailadress... hotel.opus@unet.cz

See you soon

Sam

Hi,
this hotel is full

robert gaisek wrote:Hi Sam.

Accommodation

Post by Sam Gordon » Mon Aug 03, 2009 7:39 pm

Thanks Radim and Robert.

I have made a reservation at the Hotel Pivovar for their apartment to hold the UK crew, having spoken with a helpful chap called Neumann (Karel was not available). At least I think a reservation has been made. Bit of a language barrier.

I could've booked a week-long wedding reception to the local grannies rugby team, with all the trimmings. Dear lord. Still, we can always arrive early at the OPUS and claim to be Team Sweden, right guys?

Here's where the adventure starts!

Radim, if there's a chance that you might confirm the apartment booking, then that would be very helpful.

Go Sweden, Go Team EttSexEtt!

Josef Stefka vann helg i Hradec Kralove. Martin Reaves den andra.

Hi Sam,
your apartment is blocked. If someone needs a room, still have two free (only with a double bed). Who needs please call +420 461 725 269
