[2012] Paris Slalom World Cup - Trocadéro 26,27 May [Prime]

Post by Guillaume Saint-Criq » Thu Oct 20, 2011 12:52 am

Not applying for a World Cup status (yet), but YES, we are making everything possible to bring back this event !

Image

26 and 27 may 2012 will give Trocadero back to slalomskateboarders
Same menu as usual : 2 days, 3 races in the center of Paris, just in front of the Eiffel tower

Probably applying for a Prime status

More info to come

it seems many of you are interesting in this event and are looking for some more infos...

YES Paris Slalom Cup will happen !

It will be a 2 day race (saturday and sunday) with TS, HS and single line GS

It will be low cost (not more than 50€ for men, less for women and Jrs)
Payment in advance via paypal... payment on race site will probably be overvalued by 10€

No Prize money for now, but it can change (it will depend on some public subventions from the city)... but we will for sure make it low budget

We also will probably have to limit registrations number because we want to provide a good race and not being overwhelmed by numbers : we will communicate again early February about this.
Registrations will happen on SlalomRanking website. First paid, first served.
But we also want to make it possible for everyone who want to come and we will work that way...

I know most of us are waiting for the World Cup revival, but this year it's only a come back ... we are working to make it as good as possible even if the inline skating took all the place after we stopped in 2008...
I will work with Erika to make it again a world class event in 2013 and the next years, but you can already come and skate the Trocadero in 2012, just for glory ;)

Guillaume in another topic wrote:It s in a good way... city council seems to finally agreed on our event... more news really soon !

But once again, we only apply for a prime and we do not want to set a high level race this year... everyone of you will be more than welcome, but we do not want you too be disappointed about the organization level.

I will be able to give facts soon.

And we already thanks Seismic, Khiro, Sk8kings and Loaded for their support !
Sounds promising!

Me and Fabian Björnstjärna will celebrate our 50th birthdays while racing in Paris, so you have to get the permit.
We want you all to let us win as a birthday-gift.;)
(well.....I want this....Fabian will win anyway)

Well, the problems are overshadowing such aspects as book early and get a good price. Sorry.
Right now the struggle is to make the event happen at all.
But, as I said, I heard it was leaning in the right direction.

i am really sorry not to give more infos sooner. I was out for one week, but Erika who is organizing with me send me positive emails this week.

The event will take place for sure!

We just need to solve some problems about starting ramps, and finalize budget to be able to communicate about entry fees and what riders will be able to expect from our event
I know some of you (like one of our Spanish friends) already booked your flight. For the others, I promise official information by the end of the week.

But once again, yes, we g0t the official authorisation and will be able to skate the Trocadero!

Thank you all for you interest in this event.

Take the RER train from the airport to anywhere in Central Paris (St Michel for example), then take a taxi. That's the best solution. Max 10 EUR/person for the RER, then a taxi for 15-20 to your hotel.

If you're staying on the Trocadero side, it could be worth taking the Air France bus which takes you to Porte Maillot or the Arch de Triomphe (both close to Champs Elysees) instead.

We will stay in Monparnasse close to the Pasteur-substation.
We are 4 so maybe it will be cheaper to take a cab all the way.....or RER to Denfert/Rochereau and then sub.
I rather put my money in a skaters pocket....that´s why I´m asking.

I appreciate it that, but Paris is such a big town, nobody wants to drive unless they don't have too. Also, most skaters living in town, don't own a car. You don't need it then.

It took me 2.5 hrs to get back from Disney yesterday. Normally it's a 45 minute trip. And this journey started at 11 pm (23.00). Damned, I was really mad and tired coming home so late. Highway closed due to constructions...

Hey Robo...

right now we have 47 registered racers. Many of them confirmed they will come, but only 12 already paid their entrance.
So, you will not be the only one to pay on site.
And it seems we will not pass the 50 racers step, so will we able to run for the incredible King Of The Hill trophy !

To all, 1 week less to pay your registrations without 10 euros extra...

If anyone needs Seismic stuff, make sure you pre-order so that we can put it aside for you.
Also, Mr Seismic himself will be present and as you must have noticed by now Seismic is our main sponsor this year!
