Well the white Turner went to France, the Sims with Strokers went to Germany. I just relisted my fave; the red Turner with Gullwings:

Re: Slalom boards on ebay
Thanks Rob for pointing out the correction about the Sims team vs Hess team kids. Definitely wanted to be accurate. I`m sure you have seen I`ve re-listed some boards. Not much time left. Don`t think it will get there this time either though. Might just not be the time to sell.
I sold a Santa Cruz complete slalom this time though, and a Quicksilver deck.
I had sold the Santa Cruz the previous time around. The guy used the buy it now and then never responded to invoices or attempts to contact. Had to file a non-paying bidder case so I could get my listing fee back! I really hate that kind of thing. The guy has 100% feedback. But now he has a non paying bidder strike. I don`t understand why hit the buy it now if you aren`t sure? Just don`t. Saves everyone a PITA.
Ah well, enough griping!
Interesting about the other Sims Turner that showed up. I saw when that one originally sold. Nice deck.

ENJOY!! (while you can)
Re: Slalom boards on ebay
I was watching your Turners Tom - alas al I could afford to do. I spoke to Tom Sims via Facebook who confirmed the details behind the Sims Racing Turners he signed if you recall. Funilly enough another one has just surfaced on e-bay this week!

Almost forgot. I have a fullnose which I bought new in 1978 which I really like and seeing the 2nd gen version was nice. I would like to find another fullnose.

Re: Slalom boards on ebay
I am still a bit surprised at the prices. Could be the right people were not watching or in the market. Could be just about anything I suppose. I could list one tomorrow and it might go for more than I ask, who knows.
As far as splitting the Sims board and the Stroker trucks, I don't think I will do that. Strokers have a specific bolt hole pattern; narrower holes toward the center of the deck. Drill a deck for Stroker trucks and other trucks won't mount up. At least none I know of.
And yes Strokers can be worth a bit of $ themselves so mounted to a 70's Turner that is itself a Sims limited edition with Tom Sims autograph should be a pricey combination that isn't going to be seen often since there are only 4 more of the decks in this series.
All our talk is just academic though as they go for what they go for. Tomorrow is another day.

Tom had a white cutaway set up similarly that got to less than 1/2 $255US/160UK?

I wonder if, give that fewer of us skate ski stance, the full nose is more desireable.

Hey I went back to your auctions, I had no idea that SIms team board has strokers on it. I think I only saw one picture. Strokers can go $500 on their own.

Re: Slalom boards on ebay
2-3 years ago the Pollacks were not bringing $500 a couple of years ago, but they are a whole other animal.
I'm not as active on ebay as I once was, but try to keep track as I have a large stash that belongs to WRIV that is increasingly worth less. Ick's, roes, and flat PPS seem to be worth a lot less ($50-100)than he paid for them new ($150-250), everyone wants concave and a kicktail if they are going to be ridden, and any collector who would want one, aready has it. Maybe its been long enough and some new people are coming to the collector table, but the big money days of $1000 used Turners is over.
I've sold a could 2001-2002 Turners in the past few years. I got $150 and saw them go as low as $100. A 1970's model with midtracks and oj's went for $450 at the end of last year, but I think to a collector, that board was worth more than the second gen.

I thought the price you got up to was pretty good for 2nd gen models, but yes parting them out might bring a few extra bucks. Good luck. I think in the end you need to decide how low you will go, and if you would rather have it on your wall for that winning bid, or take what you can get.

Re: Slalom boards on ebay
I dont know. I've seen a couple go for close to $500 for just the deck whereas most of mine seemed to hit $269 or so and not further. This for completes.
While not the Pollacks I would have thought the Sims with Strokers would have gone over $610 ???
I answered many many emails asking to ship overseas which I replied positively and also posted to the auctions. Probably should have posted to the original auction and will if I relist. Funny thing is after answering all the questions regarding overseas bidding that never went anywhere.
It is the way it goes sometimes I guess.

Re: Slalom boards on ebay
I'd split the Turner/Strokers, and put up that you're willing to post worldwide.
3 Turner Pollacks have sold recently for $1300-$1650, 2 of which went to one guy here in the UK.

Actually Tom, your Turners got some of the highest bids I've seen in a couple of years.

Well that was disappointing. The market for old Turners, and slalom in general, seems to be pretty soft. Ah well, it`s bound to pick up again.

Re: Slalom boards on ebay
I will ship anywhere as long as the buyer pays for all associated costs. I will not be able to determine the cost until after the auction is won. I just don't have the time to run back and forth. Hope that helps?

Slalom boards on ebay
Turners, Hobie, Roe, Santa Cruz.
I know first post is a for sale. What a dick right?
Well sorry. Been a lurker for years, especially old Turner info. Thought you guys would appreciate this. I`m eliminating some excess stuff from a couple hobbies...so I can focus more on some other hobbies! I got to the point where these were hanging on the garage wall up by the ceiling and it occurred to me that I didn`t really enjoy them anymore up there. Going to focus more on my motorcycles.
