Here two pictures of great spot in Stuttgart. It was buit from Matthias Bauer an Wert Skater (Santa Cruz PRO in 80´) which now works as Architect. The bowl is situated in two stops with U-Bahn Nr.15 from the Central Trainstation direction Stuttgart-North (Friedhofstraße) Opposite of Best Western Hotel Stuttgart 21. If some of you like to ride it don´t forget take your Boards.

Hi,

This weekend I will go to the race venue of Tight and Hybrid slalom to make some picture for you. If the weather is OK you can see it here on Saturday /Sunday evening. We have three locations for GS (one is already permitted) As soon as possible we definitely know which will be for our race I post here some pictures. Everyday I have some meetings or phonecalls, every day happens something new. It doesn´t make sense to post here some information which maybe change again and again. Please stay with me.

Hi friends,
here are some picture taken yesterday at 10.March 2012. The race track is 5,0 meter wide and 200 m long. If we have courses with 100-120 m length you still have enough space to stop (The complete street is about 400 m the permition we have is for 1/2 of it). The wide of 5,0 m ist not perfect but t the moment is it only one possibility for us. At the pictures you also can see the slope. The course you see in pictures here was with 2m distance and had only some 32 cones (After wintertime there are still much little stones, so we cleaned only some 60-70 meters (even this was hard work) to make this picture for you possible. During the week I will post here some recommendation for Hostel/Hotel in Stuttgart. At the moment I have two good Hotels which make us offer with 30% less for the competitors. If you have any questions please let me know.

May I ask what the age limit for the children's division?

Thank you!

Myself, Ernst-Jan and Jeroen Steggink are going and we will stay at the Hotel Central Classic. Melle Stok is most probably going as well.

Good luck with the organization! and THANK YOU for doing this!!

We now have a new location for the GS. So there is one (which is already permited) and a new one pretty in the center of Stuttgart on that we are working for the permission. In middle of May we'll definitely know which one is the race track. ASAP we know something new we let you know !!!

Hi Robert,

this in english due to the international character of the event.
I have two questions:

You say Deadline for registration is June 15.
Your timetable says registration is in the morning of July 27th. Do I have to be there this Friday morning? (May be not possible for me)
Is it possible to only race in the hybrid?

Thanks

Chris

1. Registration+Payment until 15.June

2. "Confirmation" at the spot (You recieve your starting Number, Contest T-Shirt etc...)
So if you arrive at Friday (or saturday Morning ?) we can manage it in this case later.

I Hope this short answer is OK for you. At the moment I have massive troubles with my computer so I don't have time to write more.
End of the week should be everthing OK but maybe my PC lost all my memory inkl. all Stuttgart 2012 Stuff :-(
ASAP I know something new I'm here again !!!

Now we have the confirmation from the city council for the GS :
Stuttgart give us the best possible GS Street in the center of the City. We are so happy about it !!
You can reach it very good by walk or by public transport.

Giant Slalom (Sunday, 29.July )

Location: Stuttgart / Etzelstrasse

No Parking Possible !!

Please use the public Transport :

U-Bahn Nr.5,6,7,12 (Station: BOPSER) Direkt at the top of GS
or
Bus Nr. 43 - ( Station: Falbenhennenstrasse) Direkt on end of GS

Length of GS Slalom : 200 m
Area to stop: 100 m

Asphalt Quality is good

Approx. speed 40-45 km/h

Children category probably only half of the race track without Starting Ramp + accompaning by adults (?)

Latest end of this Day - 18:00 hour

Travelling home after the GS Race and after the Victory Ceremony :

From the GS Location you can reach the Train Station in about 10-12 Min. by U-Bahn (five stations with Nr. 5,6,7 or 12)
From the Train Station you can take S-Bahn (S2 or S3) to Airport which need some 25 Min.

By Taxi to Airport is it from GS about 20 min. ( the Taxi costs. are approx. 25-30 EUR)

Robert, Louis is planning on attending but will needs some help with accommodations and such. Is there anyone that has somewhere cheap or possibly even floor space. He had already booked other race travel earlier thinking there was not going to be a Worlds in Europe. If anyone can help him out please contact him, Mig or Fullbag. Even send me a note and I can forward it to him

Thanks,

Claude

Hi Claude,
Graet that Lous will be on Start !!! I´m very happy about it !!!
I slept with my family in Ottawa in your appartment so it would be great if can make now for him this offer.
There are already some 5-6 other skaters but it will be OK. From my flat good connections to all race venues.
If he prefer He can also take place in the low cost "Interhostel" (see above).

Sorry, but we have now to set a Limit of 120 Racers !!

It is technically not possible have more people in the race.

At the moment we have 113 racers. (G.Gailitis+P.Price signed up twice so there are not 115)

Yes, Claude. It is also my point of wiev.(=don´t worry about Louis)
In all Sports you have some kind of qualification for the Worlds. World Ranking list could be an indicator for this "selection".
During the weekend we speak about it with all organizers.

The highest priority have for us to have safe and fair play race !

Hi Robert,

All paid and registered.

Could you let me know if there is accommodation left in the hostels. If possible I would like a single room at the Inter Hostel.

Thank you.

Rob

upd: Hope, that not late, because I have already done it. 79.20 Euro a few minutes ago.
