Hi - I would like to pay online - but it is fantastically difficult to pay using a bank to an international destination - plus the bank requires more information about the account and has many fees to charge.
As well as the cost of calling them.
It would have been easier to use paypal or visa.
Also I have a train to Paris for Friday racing - but now the race will be 2 days only?
The information I had said "May 25th/26th/27th brings the return of the classic Paris Slalom race".
Finally - the hotel recommended by the website was closed - is there a reasonable hotel anyone can recommend that has space?
I remember the good old days when the host nation provided accommodation ;-)
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Paris again - a great location!!!

Concerned by Flavio's news that Jeroen has broken his pulse now - I thought it was just his wrist?
Has he had a pump fitted to keep his circulation going?

Enjoy Paris everyone - sorry I can't join you this time around.

:-) Thanks for reminding me of that Rob! :-) I blew it again, I kind of took the word pools en pulso (Dutch and Portuguese for wrist and just translated them in pulse :-)) it must be due to my advanced age.....

Paul,

Turning from a 3 days event to a 2 days event was annouced at least 2 monthes ago (on 2012-03-27 to be exact!). I am really sorry you did not see it before.

About accomodations, we exchange together few emails where you told me 3ducks hostel was closed. I then adviced you to have a look at http://www.aloha.fr/
It s pretty difficult to have official accomadation in Paris as it is a really touristic town, and to be honnest, most hotels do not have any interest in a group of skaters coming to their hotel. We will try to improve that for next years :) .

About payments : we do have some problems with paypal on previous events and we choose not to use it this year.
I did not know it was so difficult to make bank transfer, but your feedback come really too late (only -3 days from the event) for us!

See you in Paris

No worries, I did not mean to be critical

I did book the travel as soon as it was announced as it only gets more expensive the closer to the race.

I did not realise that it would be hard to transfer money until I tried it - just letting you know why I did not pay as you expressed surprise only a few skaters had registered. Do they live in France per chance?

As for the accommodation, I posted to see if anyone had a room to share or maybe some good karma would come back to me after all the help I have given foreign skaters visiting me. Where is Vinzzzz?

Sj, here is what's scheduled on friday

9 am : we set up the barrier all around the skateboard site
20 pm : we set up the start ramps

in between, expect we set up at least straight tight slalom. If there is some international riders ready, we will also set up the special slalom and giant (or hybrid)

no training with the ramps will be allowed on friday

Results for all races had been published on D day via slalomranking website. Overall results were online less than one hour after the last race.
I can't remember any race doing that in the past, and want to address a special thanks to Corky for that and his work all over the weekend!

So, it may look like boring, but I have to express thanks :
Thank you Jani, as usual, for what you do for slalom skateboard in France.
Thank you Dan for your work at the timetable and for the incredible support Seismic Skates gave us as a main partner!
Thank you to all our cone marshalls and volunteers!
Thank you to all who helped us in any way!
Thank you also to all our sponsors : I also want to express a huge thanks to all riders who make the trip to Paris : you all made this event come alive again!
It seems it was a competitive event with such a positive vibration all over the weekend!

Remember what we said earlier this year... it was only a comeback... we're just few days after the race but Erika (my partner in crime) and I are more motivated than ever to make it again next year...
So get ready for PSWC 2013

The pro photographer is Jacques-antoine Delevaux (see on facebook)
He did had some serious health problems just after the Paris race. He is better now and recovering.
He told to Erika he will soon work again on those pics... i will ask her if she had some more news
