New England 2013 Outlaw and Practice Info

Post by Glenn Chapman » Thu Apr 11, 2013 8:23 pm

Let's get this season rolling. Sorry for the pun sometimes I just can't help myself. I am thinking of starting a Beverly High School session every Wednesday night that it is dry. It will start around dusk to eliminate some of the traffic problem due to traffic coming and going to the sport fields. The first night will be April 24 (around 8pm) so you have a couple of weeks to get your gear dusted off and tuned up. email me or give me a call if you are planing on skating. glenn_chapman(at)comdel dot com

I will be travelling for work this Wednesday. We will start next week 5/1 at 8:00 (if the pavement is dry). Sorry for the delay.

I'll have to do some mapping - I typically work until 6, that may leave me time to get there once in a while.

Sundays in Antrim are the plan again up here, I'll have to chat with everyone to see if we can set a time to aim for. If I can get a regular helper or two I'll offer a course through Antrim Rec and try to commandeer one lane of Summer Street for that piece.

Just crawling out of my Winter fog, looking forward to putting the wheels down!
What could POSSIBLY go wrong??

Dave, I am out for this weekend but I would like to come up and skate soon. Maybe we can plan something within the next two or three weekends.

Outlaw Sunday 6/30/13 Antrim 202 Hill. The 202 hill is 3 miles on your right after you pass the McDonald's while travelling south/west on 202.
Start Time: 10:30
We will run 1.5 hours of HS then 1.5 hours of GS. For the HS expect 6ft to 15ft spacing and 10ft+ for the GS. The hill is 20 to 25 mph with very good pavement. The Antrim start ramp may or may not be used (We need to convince Dave K). Timing will be either Trackmate or lap timers. Both races will be jam format with no practice runs. We will take your best time to determine rankings. We will also set a beginner course at the end of the day for any new racers. The beginner course will be long board compatible.

Helmets required, pads encouraged.

Results, July 21 Antrim Outlaw
We ran a HS with a A start and a B start. We also ran a GS from the top. Both races were jam format with the best for the win. I am only showing each racers best two times. Grant is a first year racer, fell early in the day, dusted himself off and kept on riding. Elliot came out and rode with me a couple of times last season, but basically it is his first season as well, he is picking up the sport quickly. Dave had a hard fall near the end of the day, heal up fast my friend! It was a great day and fun to see everyone working hard to improve.

B start HS
