Announce your 2022 events here

Post by Maria Carrasco » Mon Oct 18, 2021 11:50 pm

Attention Event Organizers:
Register new events for the race calendar with the on-line registration.
  • Log in on www-slalomranking.com and you will be forwarded to your personal ranking home page.
You need to be logged in at the ranking site to use it. If you don't have your forum user linked to the ranking pages contact us and we will do it.
  • Click button "Settings". On your personal ranking home page.
  • Click button "Add event".
  • Select and fill in basic event info on fields in the order they come up.
Note the little information icon on the different sections. Click on it to get more information.
If you still are missing some information let us know in this forum and we will add it.
  • Post the "event registration" at the end.
ISSA administrators we will have a look at it before we publish it.
But the event page does exist, it's only that we don't show it in the calendar. It may be that you as organizer want to add some additional information before making the event public in the calendar.
For example: Adding more information/articles/pictures. Adding more organizers. Adding some links to forum, facebook, ... Adding a poster. Adding map coordinates for a new spot (or an old spot with missing coordinates).
See more info here: Calendar info + Adding events. Where you will also have a video tutorial of how to add events.

Event sanction fee for status Major, Main or Prime
The old way if you have problem with the above:
  • Please make a reply to this post to announce your planned event - Note the info needed as set out below. Posting here will ensure you have complied with the advance announcement requirements and start the process of getting your event sanctioned.
  • You must send notice of your event (easy to just copy this same info from your thread announcement) via email to the status marshals for your region along with a sanction application (for prime, main or major) so they can review and oversee having your event added to the master calendar, etc.
  • Setting up an event page on Facebook is free and easy - we highly suggest doing that at the same time you make an announcement here. Having an event page early on makes it easy to share the news and start promoting your event right away. Be sure to post a link to your event page on the ISSA FB Group too.
  • Plan to submit your race event results to the ISSA Ranking Supervisor Hans "Corky" Koraeus, immediately following your event via email: ranking@slalomskateboarder.com and also copy to the status marshals for your region.
  • If you notice something that needs to be added or modified on the ISSA race calendar - please also post that as a reply to this thread - and kindly notify the regional status marshals via email.

All three days will be held at the Hockley Soap Box Derby Hill.
The soapbox derby hill is closed to traffic, has lights, restrooms and seating for spectators. The Asphalt on a scale of 1-10 is a 9, the hill is a quarter mile long and drops at 1st a 6% then a 4% grade speeds can reach 30-35 MPH due to an almost constant tail wind.
EVENT DISCRIPTION
FRIDAY
: Giant Slalom will be single lane jam style A Class B & C class will be chosen by the timer. Racers may go off the big ramp the small ramp or no ramp. There will be one lower start that may be chosen by the racer but a 30 second penalty will be added to their time Cone penalty .20 per cone 15% cone DQ limit, all racers get two runs.
Bragging rights downhill, no Prize money no ISSA points. Fastest through the trap (88 feet you time is converted to speed) wins. The racer can go down the BAR the regular ramp or push you can pump or tuck or push all the way before the trap but both feet must be on the board while you go through the trap
SATURDAY
Hybrid slalom will be 1st qualifying and then head to head racing. Cone penalty .10 per cone 15% cone DQ limit; we will be using Ricky Byrd style start ramps and Trakmate timer with false start detection. If you false start it will be a DQ for that run.

SUNDAY
Tight slalom will run 1st A class from the top with Ricky Byrd Style start ramps a class will be the top 16 only, qualifying then head to head ladder style racing. Note if you do not qualify for the A class then the racer will be allowed to race in the B/C race. But their times will be reset.
B& C class will run down farther on the hill, it will be run single lane jam style; all racers will get two runs. Note there will be two lanes form the A class race already set up, so we will both lanes but still it will be run jam style.

Please note: There will be A, B and C classes for Pros and AM’s Masters, Grand Masters, Woman’s and Juniors this year, only your time will seat you nothing else, and all points will be to where you place after head to head racing within the entire class. So, this means that if there are for example, 8 racers in the A class and you come in 1st in the B class you will be in ninth place for the whole class and so on down the line. If we have enough Master’s & Juniors or woman to make a division (declared the magic number is 4) then they will be eligible to win both their class as well as they place they earn over all.
This event has a MAIN sanction from the ISSA
