Cnova how is it going bro. Looking forward to the rematch. The force is strong with in this racer. I will be watching you coming off that take off ramp. Have'nt forgotten the header you took on the red lane ramp at ST louis trying to take me out. Lucky for me at the age of 43 I still have cat like movements and I was able to jump over you. Looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the Knuckleheads. Eddy TEXAS OUTLAW.

turner needlenose with cambria 86/82. felt comfortable. rolled smooth...slight vibration.
Energyskates.com birch GS deck with stinger 88/84. a little more "wheel buzz", but with the big hub, you'd expect it.
park board with cut down NoSkoolz 94a/65mm. actually rolled okay. grip was very good. an attempted powerslide gripped and put me on my arse.
********
this road is not super smooth, but not bumpy. it's an average decent road.
the 94a wheels didn't have the soles of my feet numb at the bottom of the hill.
so I think that any wheel durometer will work. a softer wheel will be more comfortable. I think mid 80's range would be good grip/comfort...then again, I just started thinking how smoothe and fast my 78a flashbacks roll...dang, I don't think I know what I'm doin...

alright...
so I went back by the hill and rolled down on my longboard with flashback 78a. sweeeeet.
so thanks for getting me out there to wheel-test, 66! you bastard.
now I'm more confuseder than ever.
any wheels will work.
harder/faster/rougher ride.
softer/slower/smoother.
aw mang, now whattamm I gonnadoooooo.
I guess I'll just ride the middle 80's as I had planned before all this confusion set in...
*****************
I saw in the local paper that the county is gonna add "red clay color" to the river in honour of this race. cool.
*****************
there's alot of nice shade all along the racecourse, so it oughtta be as comfortable as can be expected for summertime in Georgia.

Don't we have enough Mexicans in Georgia?.....JUST KIDDING! The Irish/Italian gang is looking forward to seeing all you blokes this weekend. Not sure if I can get up there in time for the Tejas Outlaw Roadshow, but I'm going to do my damndest....
Hollien mentioned something about getting together for some post-race slalom. I'm down. Could be "educational" and fun....But I most definitely aim to get in on the last VANS ATL session on Saturday night. Also P-ville, then A-ville on Sunday. Isn't that the plan Patio?? I know your probably tired of repeating yourself but I'm too lazy to dig up your old posts.....

okay, as race weekend approaches, here's how it's lookin...(from my crosstown viewpoint)
***********************
friday, meeting with JohnnyB and JohnnyRad and whatever other travelers want to grind at Junior's Ditch around 5/5:30.
from Junior's, there's the 7:00 Texas outlaw race at Huntington Hill for some, or for us transition kooks, Glowing Rock Skatepark.
The park closes at 10, at which point we'll(as in the sk8park kooks) head downtown to Little Italy for some slices, suds and scenery...
I don't know what post race festivities RedBullClayBud has planned...
***********************
saturday, racing planned 9-2.
I think some post race showers/resting/festivities and then to Vans for the 5-7 for their last night FOREVER. I heard the place will be shut down at 7pm on saturday...
Hooters is about 10 minutes down the road from there...
again, not sure what the Redstuff people have planned...
************************
sunday, Asheville,NC skatepark. they open at 1pm. it takes about 3hrs to get there from Athens. I plan to head out around 10. Christian is driving his 10 passenger deal...
************************
monday, Picnicville in the morning, Hooters for lunch.
back to athens for some more ditch and fullpipe skating.
*************************
tuesday morning, I head to work and send JohnnyB and JohnnyRad back to yankeeland...
*************************
Team Advil in full effect y'all!

Dudes I feel cool skate vibes in the air. I am still trying to dial in that tight slalom. We will see what the new Roe 28 inch Crossfire will do with a set of Cambrias tommorrow. Looking forward to the Oulaw Race and some good Mexican Food even though I am married to a Canadian and I really enjoy food from the great white North. Catch you hosers later A. Eddy Texas Outlaw

For Sunday or Monday;
I would like to run some cones at any time during those 2 days. Rick, I do not know if there is a place to do this or not. That hill for Fri. looks good. Is it skateable anytime during the day? Should I bring my own cones? Michelle and I will be in Athens fri. afternoon.
See everybody on fri. or sat. Keith
P.S. I hope I will have all 3 sizes of the new Roe Racing Keith Hollien Signature Series with me for sale.

Oh yeah, and let's not forget the late night kegger and Peach Polish demo at Stanziale's saturday night....

hey Tom...
since the last session ever at Vans ends at 7 on saturday night, we're figuring on heading back to athens after skating...we'll be back by 8ish(45min drive), and ready to join the already drunken revelers.
I really think the slalom deally and the vans session will already be more skating than I can take in one day...adding P-ville would kill me.
oh and the Vans girl told me tonight, saturday is FREE admission.
and then I slammed on the vert ramp and now my mcribs hurt.
okay, now 2 days left to practice cones and stay off ramps and stuff...
woo hoo.

One last time before we do this thing tomorrow:
Athens Ga. Weather forecast for Saturday, August 30, 2003: Partly to mostly cloudy with isolated thunderstorms developing during the afternoon. High 88F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
If Athens is like everywhere else here in the Southeast, that "thunderstorms developing during the afternoon" means after 4:00, maybe closer to 6:00. We've been getting a little pop up right around 5:30 or so just about every other night for a month. So I'll be surprised if there's anything earlier in the day.
See y'all in the morning on the hill.

66! (You bastard!),
Great weekend:
• I got to spend six hours skating with a lot of my friends
• The Braves won
• Carolina won
• Klempsun lost
What more could anyone ask? Well, the one drawback was the sorry Dawgs got a win, but considering the circumstances, there's no way I can complain!
Hey, it was great meeting so many new people. I was really thrilled to see Eddy Martinez make it out and run some cones with us. Totally cool guy. Eddy, just make a note of this: I owe you a dollar for the Gatorade, but Chris Chaput owes me a dollar for subway fare. So the next time you see Chaput, just hit him up for the dollar and leave me out of it!
Congrats to Dan and Tammy. Seems like they are having the time of their lives and getting off to a good start. (Should I say, "getting off" about newlyweds?) The St. Lou crew was out and seems to be as stoked about racing as anyone could hope. The DC'ers were their typical selves and finding a way to make a long event seem longer! Also, it was cool to see Five Dime again after over a year since our last encounter. He is definetely one of the more profound young men involved in our fledgeling enterprise of Slalom Skateboarding. And someone tell Eric Moore not to get used to seeing me that far behind. It won't be a common occurence!
Again, it was a sweet event and I'm glad Rick (and Patio and Low J?) were finally able to do the deed the way they've always envisioned it would go down. Y'all have a fun Labor Day.
P.S. I hope you took note of the fact that I didn't scream "You Bastard!" across the street in front of the wife and kids? I'm such a swell guy. Heh, heh, heh,

The race was the best. Rick held it all together and treated us so well. Thanks Rick! The rooms were fine. That's what we need more of, taking some of the financial burden off the racers. We'll do the same at LSJ 2.0. Everybody watch for a huge Southern Series coming to a hill near you.
All the racers were in great form. The tight was really fun as long as it lasted. I would have loved to see the finals in that event.
Hollien The Machine, Mr. Clean, and the Mandareen rock hard, especially the start ramps, and those Radikal trucks were the star of the show. In the tight there are none better and the Florida Boyz proved it. Keith really needs to put together a curriculum and take it on the road, Slalom 101! Thanks for all the tips.
Wes E is jamming those picket fence planks like a mad man. That guy can cut a custom tape job with a spoon. The DC Crew have got to be the nicest guys out there. Wesley made the scene and it was good to see that style again. Hang in there buddy. Eddy is coming on strong, keep the stoke over there in Texas.
My buddy Clifton made the round of 16 in the tight. He's been working hard on his tight techinque and it showed! Way to go Clif Doggy! Will J was hitting it hard too. Will was the only one that bombed Huntington from the top, and in the dark!
St. Louis, you stand alone, you know how much I love you guys, nuff said.
Jack, Bahne needs a couple of females on the team and their names are Lisa and Katii. I hope y'all made it home OK. Catching a shuttle at 5 am ain't easy after a day of hard racing and heat. Thanks for adopting Josh, and sorry about the maranera sauce all over. I heard the pillow fight got out of hand. Josh had a great time, Thanks!
The Bahne Banshee's performed very very well all weekend. Look at Mr. Parsons results in the Special Slalom. Both of us rode Banshee's this weekend and they are fine. Can't wait for the 30" in this construction. Whew!
Worlds or Bust!
