The Friday started with a giant slalom that will be remembered. Maybe it was the fastest GS that has ever been run in Europe. For the top riders it was around 60 km/h at the bottom of the hill. The marks on the road after shoes trying to foot stop at the end of the course was well over 20 meters. The riders went into position to decrease the wind resistence and went into the territory of the Downhill world. Dominik Kowalski (GER) took first place in front of Mika Hadestrand (SWE) et Viking Hadestrand (SWE).

Impressive street sign for the event

After a chaotic start due to technical problems the Saturday tight slalom (Straight) was on. 50 cones in a straight line with 1,70 m cone distance. A strong head wind forced the racers to use all their energy reserves. The result for the day finished with Janis Kuzmins (LAT) as number one followed by Dominik Kowalski (GER) and Mika Hadestrand (SWE).

The Sunday was reserved for the special slalom. And it was a premiere for a mirrored paralllel course instead of the normal two identique paralell courses. The course was also changed on demand from the racers who thought the initial course was to favourable for goofies. This event was very spectacular and the riders was not more than a meter from each other at the most narrow point of the course. Dominik Kowalski (GER) took first place fighting it out with Viking Hadestrand (SWE) in the final. Janis Kuzmins took third place (LAT). Text: Guillaume Saint-Criq
