The worlds in Brixlegg (Austria) this year sported some pretty exciting races and new
venues to explore for the future.bigger companies are joining the sport as a
potentional investor field. Brixlegg was a first time for most of the participating
women to receive a cash prize purse. The starter fields are getting a bit younger these
days and some new, fresh and exciting faces show up at the racetracks. But, the season
is not completely over yet, Encenitas Open, formerly known as La Costa Open is waiting to happen in the next few days, other big races
such as Antibes (France) and the Dixie Cup (USA) or the Great Western (Germany) are waiting in the wings to create more excitement.

20 slalomers will participate in the opening ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy on February 10 (8 PM Central European Time). Among them World Champion Giammarco Luca who will lead the group of slalomers down the banks inside the Olympic stadium.
This is an extremely exciting opportunity to show the world a little bit of slalom skateboarding, a sport that most others, even skateboarders, don't even know exists. Little do they know how active this scene currently is and how exciting a head-to-head slalom race is today. Hopefully the glimpse of slalomers at the Olympics will incite kids all over the world to unscrew their truck bolts and start turning on their boards.
