Harbor 77 Race Application received.
The ISSA North America contest coordinators (Pat Chewning, Chris Barker, and Eddy Martinez) have received the following ISSA contest sanction for the Harbor 77 race.
We will be making our decision within 1 week.
Comments are welcome.

My personal opinion is that this is a no-brainer to award BASIC status....
DONE: Basic status.

Should a GS race held in a ditch (banked) count?
I received a question from a race organizer in New Mexico where they like to race in ditches (banked concrete) rather than on roads or sidewalks.
If he applies for an ISSA sanction for his event (GS race on banked ditch), should it be considered just as though it were held on a street?
My personal opinion is YES, because the similarities outweigh the differences:
Cones, cone penalties, downhill incline, turns, speed, starting line, finish line, timing, long race course (compared to tight slalom) .... all of these are indistinguishable from a "normal" GS race.
But I'd like to hear other opinions on this.
Would it make a difference if he were applying for a higher status (MAJOR, MAIN), rather than a lower status (PRIME, BASIC, PLAIN) ??
What do we say, do events held on a ditch count?

Thanks Corky.Hans Koraeus wrote:Soon (2007-01-01) the idea is that ISSA takes over responsability of the World Ranking and its statuses. I think we have come a long way with the rankings. Thanks for everybody that has supported it and helped it on its way to what it is today. I have done my 4 years as I planned from the start. It's time for a new chapter.
How is the transition going to work? Who is going to pick up on your pet project?

Not much has happened here for 2007 season yet. Which is pretty normal I guess. The season is not yet close by.
Thanks's for having posting your stuff in previous years topics. Soon (2007-01-01) the idea is that ISSA takes over responsability of the World Ranking and its statuses. We are shooting for Prime Status again this year. I have not spoken to my fellow Texas Outlaw and Temate O G Marcos Soulsby Monroy regarding the race, but I love the hill in San Marcos where we ran the G S on Saturday for both races. That is if the Sheriff who lives at the top of the Hill give us permission. The Texas Outlaws are committed to keeping our sport alive. We are devoted to our sport, I eat, dream, sleep slalom. Our hearts are in the right places. The Outlaws are hoping to throw a better race this year. I did speak to Marcos about the entry fee I believe we are still asking for 45$ we want to stay as GrassRoots as possible. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws.
