maybe i should post some pictures of the previous boards i've built...
like the one i built specifically for slalom...which, to my knowledge, still hasn't been mounted or ridden...actually, last i knew, the wheels for that board were sitting at some skateshop in OC along with another set of wheels that were supposed to be at my doorstep (from a friend) in september
sorry for the rant

i understand where you're coming from dude. on my pavel, my feet are directly over the trucks, which allows me to put the force of pumping DIRECTLY into the trucks. this board, the pumping motion would have to be a lot more...idk, rotational???, a motion similar to pumping a drop-deck speedboard, a motion that is NOT suited for slalom at all. eh, it was a thought...Donald Campbell wrote:hey doug
that was an honest statement from a guy that builds boards and puts a lot of thought into
what he does.
if you already have a decent board go and compare the 2 boards, you will see and feel why this shape is not what you want.

Why?Doug Kadzban wrote:well in THAT case, i guess i'll just keep a-using my pavel for slalom and use this piece for a campus cruiser
yay pavel!
Why not set it up and run cones with it and see how it does?
It's your board. Ride it.
One of the FASTEST guys on the East Coast is the King Of Georgia, Tom Thompson. What does he ride? He took a popsicle stick and used a jig saw to cut a point on one end. It works perfectly for him: stiff, concave and a rear kick to hold his back foot. And he's fast.
AND
If he breaks it he can go to the store and buy another one for $12 to do the same thing.
So, the moral is: functional is as functional does. If it works, great. It if doesn't, what the hell? Try again with something else.

at least he builds his own boards.
could use a bit of rounding on the corners but thats only for style. the board may be dysfunctional to some but using a different stance it would be fine.
if you build another one you may want to try making a board where you can stand directly over the trucks and see which is best for you. with the right risers you will be able to stop the wheel bite.
im not sure if donalds dig at the board was a joke cause they know each other, but from the posts i've seen he seems all talk.
