Farm parties don't get ugly, they get more interesting as the night progresses.

Especially if you stay sober and watch.....

Mike,

One of the FullBag contingent was snapping a bunch of race pics. I gave the young lady my e-mail but have not heard from her. Both she and the gentleman with her said she was going to post them all.

Maybe Mig or Danilo knows who it was and can help shake them loose.

Da Farm

Post by Robert Sydia » Wed Aug 13, 2008 4:02 pm

Joe, Tway and Everyone Else:

Thanks for an incredible weekend - the Farm is like a family homecoming with all of your disfunctional relatives and I mean that in the most positive way!!!

I remember Shady Lane five years ago - got there, looked down and almost shat my pants!!! Last weekend is was one of the best hills to race on - the GS was fun and the TS/HS was perfect for head-to-racing!!!!

The party was off the wall - 50th B-Day for WR IV, Fatty, Surly and Nicky singing up a storm, great food, excessive alcohol and hanging out in Tway's back-yard - can't ask for better!!!

Can't wait until next year!!!!

Rob

P.S. Justin - that was not my wet finger in your ear :)

What a great time...thank you again Joe, all the Tways, and everyone else who made it happen. And to WR - it was YOUR day man...with many more to come.

Stuff I saw/heard (pretty sure on most of it):

- Jason's ability is only surpassed by his passion and stoke for the sport and life - congrats again wild man.

- Fatboy is getting faster, and may have beaten Joe had he not been wearing what his close friend and competitor termed "a parachute"...aka kilt.

- Canada now has a lot more pottery. And a little less saliva.

- Nick Iacovelli is the second coming of Joe Strummer, and can skate fast too...rock on Nicky. I predict that the "Return of the Farm" race, in 2018, will be organized by this man.

- Wentzle had a look on his face like he was 17 all weekend.

- Funniest voice mail message I have ever heard is on one of the DC boyz phones...that's all I'm gonna say.

- The DHB...super cool...Evan RIPPED the GS course.

- Destiny sang the Canada and US National Anthems before the racing began...you have to hear it to believe it, thanks again Destiny!

- Justin...just LOOK OUT if you race this guy soon...that's all.

- Dr. Dan almost had the run of the century in the Vintage race, on about a ten inch wheelbase plastic disaster...off the ramp too...in it's own way it was a sketchy as some downhills. ;-)

- Rob Herten busting his butt helping to make everything run smoothly time adter time, and then receiving the special award...perfect!

- If you are "around" 21 years old and from New Jersey, you can sleep in the back seat of a car with a case of beer as a pillow one night, and sleep on a stone patio wall the next.

- Claude has brought the term "kicktail" new meaning..."launch ramp" is more like it...still ripping my friend, nice work!

- Switzer thinks clothes are made of duct tape.

- Joe announced the pie penalty for hitting the first cone in the GS, then kicked it over on foot while officiating, then hit it in his run, and received said treatment.

- Two people are owed the "pie treatment"...you know who you are, be wary.

- Gleb proved you can buy your first slalom board, go to a slalom clinic the next week, and rip clean GS runs at a big contest two weeks later...nice job!

- A certain Ontario resident took one of his dual TS runs with one axle nut just spun on the end finger tight, and still got a crock...a secret new speed technique from over the border once again.

- I topped off my truck with gas right before leaving town yesterday, the total? $19.78...now THAT is vintage!

The whole deal was just toooo f-ing cooooool for words, what a great life!

Love you all.

Cool...as always, say the word if you need any help...posters, t-shirt design, web, race prep...whatever. Same with Antrim - that one's gonna be huge and you WILL need help.

How about some sponsorship by Triple-8??

If you told me in '78 I'd be going to a slalom race with WR on his 50th birthday I'd have told you that you were crazy...I'm sure I'm not alone on that one...too cool.

Hope to skate with you soon man!

Saturday is Wentlze's 50th Birthday. So expect even more jackassedry and celebration.

We're still working on locations, but we expect to revisit our previous race sites. Tway is forming a committe to review how the winter effected our various hills.

If you ever wanted to come, 08/08/08 needs to get blocked out on your calendar.

It is your last chance.

Excellent news! Right on Joe! But what...no Shriners gig in 2009?

PS to all...I have a split duro C-62 set brand new (blue / pink) for sale if anyone needs vintage wheels...see the BST forum.

That's not true WT, I wish you would take that down. We've never had a final race before. I work hard on it and it means a lot to me. 8 years is a lot, it's the longest annual skateboard race in history (and I only worked on 7). Please don't cheapen it.
