The association R.I.D.E. proposes to you a very particular event, the Mascaride! The first event of French slalom Championships will take place in Nantes on the 9th day of May 2009.
The status is still discussed but we aim to get a "prime", like the first competition of 2009.
The inscriptions' and informations' website will be given on this topic in two or three days.
Categories : Am, Women (if more than 4 women).
Tight (on morning) and Special (afternoon) : the spot is a large avenue. It's a eight-meters large way split in two parts in its length by a tree path. This particular configuration is great because it draws naturally what slalom skateboarding asks for about competitor's duals. The ground is a very nice asphalt preserved from car-using damages because of his only-pedestrian status. According to the experienced slalom skateboarders, it gives a grippy asphalt.
The Mascaride is the second slalom event organized by the R.I.D.E. association. We aim to offer a great competition for people whose goal is to gain points for French Slalom Championships and also international rating. The event has a little bit changed since the first edition that took place on the same spot in 2007.
However, we have kept the same fundamental elements that have made the first edition successful. The idea of promoting the local gastronomic patrimony still exists in Mascaride. Regional cheeses and wines (welcome in France!) are awarded to the winners, among other prizes. Our local dishes are integrated in the food offer.
This idea of promoting our local food patrimony had given to the first event a specific taste to the competitors : conviviality was the most-used word to sum up the atmosphere they had competed in. We still want the Muscaride to offer this experience of friendship. This is also the component idea of the Nantes Waldeck Tour. It's a treasure quest among the Nantes' town center. It will start on the Sunday morning, after a party. It's an outlaw event, because in France skateboarding in the streets is legally banned (thought tolerated in practical terms). R.I.D.E. doesn't organize the NWT, so the association can't be considered as the responsible of any hitch.
Prizes and value of prizes to be awarded:
Prizes are some skateboarding equipment doted by the local skateshop Terre de Glisse, whose partnership with our organization has been renewed fort this second Muscaride. Blackkross Longboards, a trademark from Paris, also helps us in order to offer some gifts to the best competitors. Some local food products of high quality (wines, cheeses) will be awarded to the winners of each category.
On the Sunday, local skaters organize the Nantes Waldeck Tour, a treasure quest in Nantes! It's an outlaw event, because in France skateboarding in the streets is legally banned (thought tolerated in practical terms). R.I.D.E. doesn't organize the NWT, so the association can't be considered as the responsible of any hitch. _________________ French wine, french slalom, french fries : Muscaride Fest, 30 june in Nantes. http://assoride.free.fr |

For ISSA's marshals... The status of the race is still awaited ! Thanks ! |
The contest in Nantes is next week end and no news from marshalls??
it's bad because it's a good venue, in a nice city quite easy to access. THey were expecting international racers and it doesn't help then to have no visibility on status _________________ [ www.pavel-skates.com ] [ www.riderz.net ]
