Right on. I now fully understand your philosophy and respect your decision. Thanks for your very insightful posts. I will still miss your smiling face and awkward sense of humor at the worlds. Maybe I will see you in WV…maybe in my living room for a cold glass of your favorite cerveza. Either way, I hope to see/race you soon.

This is by one of the top world slalomers. Per Svensson has had as much influence on me as Jani all through reading Slalom! mags.
Very stylish skater? Guess what? Per doesn’t want to play these longboard slalom games in Europe as well. He can’t stand the "equalizer" courses that wouldn’t let "Luca" win.
And if "Luca" can't win this is a powerful indictor that something's longboardfully rotten here.
God (and Dr. Ferrero) save him from going to any "modern" slalom HELL!
How about adding some crappy asphalt into the picture?... So those who master high speed on hard wheels can’t do shit? Always a good trick when nothing else works.
Go read this topic to see the entire picture. Same thing happens in Moscow. This longboard slalom virus is everywhere! I have no incentive to participate in anything like that. Ever.

I don't need a bigger board for the courses we been riding so far at the wednesday races. Like i said, I'm not riding any faster then they do in their courses. but no one can do the courses I used to skate in the old days. Can you?

There is no IDEAL race format. Some like this others like that. I liked the FarmII. I liked the Paris. I liked the MS. I like Cyber Slalom. Many others were ok.
All of these have something I don’t like. Painfully slow starts in Paris and the FarmII sucked out a lot of fun from the competition. Cyber slalom is a GS masturbation on flat. It has no right no exist. The cone spacing should be under 6 ft on flat. GS boards should not be used on flat. BUT! It’s a discipline and people around the world can compare their times with each other. Therefore, I like Cyber Slalom.
To each his own.
To me- the kind of slalom competition that rewards the time and effort I put in practicing, gym, dieting and thinking about my (for now) favorite sport. The Cup that stands for Athletic ability, Power, Speed, Quickness. Not for longboarding around cones at high speed. Not something that rewards equipment. Not something that rewards reaction time on horse gates.

I love you vlad...you know that. Victoria doesn't mind I hope...

Alot of this may seem dramatic. Alot of this may seem like nonsense. Alot of this may seem to be pointless, or at the very least debating a small and slight point in a small and meaningless world.....but it isn't to some.
The biggest form of protest is doing nothing at all. Sometimes the loudest voice is one that doesn't speak.
This ENTIRE issue is not about Tight slalom or Giant slalom or specifics of board length or even skill level. It IS an attitude, a way of thinking by a small but very vocal minority. A minority that obviously doesn't believe in themselves and needs to be a thron in everyone's side to feel they are worth anything.
This reaction is very carefully constructed, not by any few people sititng at a table coming up with a plan...but by people who share like opinions that have the same goal for the development of a sport we love...but who can not just stand by without protest against what they see as instanity. Some people will be vocal while others stand behind in the shadows. We know where we aren't welcome as our enemies should as well. This entire issue can be debating and discussed in a adult manner without resorting to school yard bully thinking of "meet me behind the swing-set and we will settle this like men".
it is an open debate with our side becoming as loathsome in rhetoric as the other in an observation of the insanity of their attitude. It can be a game if you want it to be, but no one will win, only the sport of slalom skateboarding can win.
Some don't care....some just "want to have fun"...some want everyone to like them...that is fine....that is natural...this IS fun afterall, if it isn't stop doing it.
It is time to make a stand....make it known that a balance is needed. Maybe this IS too philisophical but isn't everything when you get down to it?
The time is now....the balance is here....can't we all just get along....hmmm....someday my friends, until then it might get ugly (well uglier) as we all know it probably will...but not from our doing or even our claimed instigation...all this was instigated long ago....

Weak is sitting home doing nothing when something is about to happen for the 4th time in a row! 4th time! Same place! Same tude!
Nonweak is doing something for those who think something esle is weak and old and f*ing stinks! 1 people? 2 people? We'll see.
Weak is for me not to be able to progress and grow my skills because....you know why...that brainless f*ck quotes me on nckkk for free, for he is my b*tch!
Weak is for pormoters to go the way they think is better.
Gilmour practices Super G for MB's tight I hear. Skates 40 inch boards....That's one way.
I choose the Ridolli's way. You know, the one guy who'd been spanking Luca not long ago....I just turn around and leave.
You decide what's weak for youself.
I'll be practicing MY slalom. Twice a week. No, that's weak. Make it 3 times a week.
I want to get in top 3 somewhere where the entire world is racing. Time's running short. Gotta go...practice...
Weak is this discussion. With which I'm done.
You all have fun. Some of you will try...somewhere...in a retirement-community city....and FAIL again.
Good luck anyway.

Weak.If you can't make to to MB for whatever reason, but can make it to DC for "Nice and Tight", do so.
I will put together a parallel and tight special slalom event. RFK racetrack or the Whitehouse roller/inline-slalom ground.
There is $$ to be won. And free beer after the comp. Details - later in the appropriate forum.
Except of course the free beer part.
You will be missed at Morro. The cones may not be 4'apart but then again...who really cares.
I love you Vlad and hope you will reconsider representing DC and the East at the worlds.
Thanks for your consideration.
Almost done painting the farm,
Tway

Well, Slappimus has placed rather well this summer at the DC Outlaw series. I'm not completely sure but I also seem to remember he had a good showing at the Gathering.
"Does that mean you don`t race?"
Seeing as how he does race, then I guess that means he does race (?)
"And because a handful don`t agree with what I say, should I change be like them?"
This is sort of true if you measure such thing with the Hands Of God.
"With this kind of thinking, maybe it`s YOU who should be posting on ncdsa."
Actually, it's the LACK OF THINKING on your part that always brings out the animosity in people when reading one of your posts.
""Bigger is better and more manly, you don`t skate here so you`re a non-racer" "Me and my friends don`t like you so go away""
I have to agree with this. It's hard to tell someone to "go away" who NEVER shows up to an event. It's the pomposity with which the pontification on issues of which no first hand knowledge exists that results in the vitriol. (Or, to put it simply so you'll understand, you don't know what you're writing about but for some reason you keep writing about it.) Oh, and before you spout the same ol' nonsense, "I went to La Costa in 2001!", let me be the first to clue you in: the sport has moved so far so fast in the past two years that your reference point is woefully out of date.
"Gee, where have I heard that before?"
Probably in every situation you've found yourself since grade school.
By the way, we missed you in Georgia . . . NOT!
P.S. Kudos and props to ur13. I couldn't have done it without his encouragement!

Down with the National Socialist California Downhill skateboarding association...this has been seen for months and months with the moderation of key topics being pulled for no other reason they negatively comment on FCR and the California slalom mafia. It's also a veiled attack on Stride etal and the European scene but for what reason no one knows....and it started off so well.

i'm done with this site, the so-called moderation is a joke, unless you toe the party line and support the status quo there is no place for any of you here.
my posts on slalom forum are being pulled for no reason other than the content is not entirely positive about Eric Groff, or that the post is in a language the moderator does not understand.talk about imposing your limitations on others. now posts which have no reference to him are being pulled too. repeat anonymous posts remain yet mine are removed. i'm gonna try and find out just who does moderate this area cos thay need exposing big time fekin clowns.
you wont see me no more round here i'm off to riderz.net and d173.com you can find me there but you will have to speak french. i have lost all respect for this site and , frankly, anyone who deigns to use it.

I'm surprised they haven't deleted it.
I'll expose one of the moderators. He's one of the guys that runs FCR. It's unfortunate that they continue to let the egos rule the website.
There is a better english language site without the censorship.
It's at my name (above) .com
(If it's obvious that I'm bringing up the site they will delete this post.)
The attitude is much better over there and A-blab has already been banned. (It's actually permanent...unlike here.)

Ya know wes. I started riding lower camber decks and found them easier to ride on the bigger high speed courses. For TS however I still think its a valid design. The S cambers dont feel like a high camber deck cause your rear foot is sitting low and flat. As of right now all my decks have 3/8 or less camber and are pretty stiff. TK

TK,
This isn't really from the Dark Side, but I thought I'd ask here. Seems that asking a question about you riding in Gareth's topic wasn't quite appropriate:
Are you going to ride that S-Camber?
I seem to remember you saying something about how you don't like high camber boards. Will this one be an exception? From the looks of it, that's about as high a camber as I've seen on some of the new boards floating around out there.

Wesly,
So you can pose a question to me, yet hold yourself unapproachable? Damn, I must`ve hit a nerve and again your arrogance proceeds your intellect.
You`re one pretty fart smeller.
And since you`re so hung up on this easy chair crap, I gotta feeling you own one...not that there`s anything wrong with that.

Hell I just wanna know one thing....is Vlad, or Dalv or whatever the hell he goes by these days gonna represent at the worlds? Or is he gonna stay in hiding and drink fine beer like a slacker...which we all know he isn't 'cause Cheri and I are the only ones.
Come on Vlad...make the trip out west, if anything, it will be FUN.
Thanks for your consideration,
Tway

Damn you`re dense Wesley, but again, NO, I don`t own an easy chair.
But to answer your question directly, I will not be in Georgia this weekend. My loss, not yours.
Now riddle me this Batman, will YOU be racing, regardless of weather? And are you ready for the ramp start?

The South Florida God Of All That Is Slalom From The Comfort Of His Easy Chair said on another website while trying to chastise Bill Wahl, "There is an old saying...'A real man apologizes for his mistakes while a fool makes excuses and denials and blames others for not knowing his intentions'"
He's so dim he doesn't realize he's describing HIMSELF about EVERY RACE that's happened on both coasts.
Well done Wesley! Talk about the kettle calling the pot black. And quite a*r*a*b-esquely out of context I might add.
Just what makes your excuses for not being at races or RACING makes them any more valid?
Feered of ramps? feered of rain? or just too buisy pissing in the shower?
And you call yourself a genius? Maybe your arrogance exceeds your self-importance.
I see you just made changes to your flyer but left out my recommended changes, again arrogance preceeds intelligence. Here`s a clue, some races start with ramps or lunge starts. No feets on the grounf BEFORE the first cone. Maybe because that`s your preferred start?
And no foot lifting after the first cone? You mean if during a difficult offset I raise my rear foot off the board but manage to recover, I`m still DQ`d?
Get a grip dude and get your own life in order first. Your constant digs at me are futile attempts to hide your own inadequacies.
Oh BTW, I don`t own an easy chair...do you?

Sorry, I've been away. Is this true?

Jar jar, your slowest time in the Vintage race while wearing Coco Chanel's finest was faster than his best time on a brand new Roe with Radikals and Avalons. If the two of you ever did race, most everyone would insist you stand on your head, wear a blindfold and be handcuffed behind your back just to make if fair.
And you'd still win by a large margin, assuming he didn't bail out and DQ.

When TK, Noah and the rest of the East Coast Clique slaloms, it sounds like "click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click"
When the SFGOATISITCOHEC tries to ride it sounds like "click . . . . . . . . . . . . click . . . . . . . . . . . . click . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . click . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . click . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . click . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . click . . . . . . . . . . . . click . . . . . . . . . . . . Anyone else see this today in the "Tight Slalom" forum?
"John Gilmour Team Roe Racing Posted: 2003-08-21 06:46"
6:46 AM? Ok. You just have to ask yourself ONE QUESTION: was he just getting up OR just getting in?
My god, I just thought of something. Could it be, is it possible, can we comprehend a world where . . . John Gilmour had to get up this morning and GO TO WORK?
Oh, the humanity!
